When introduced in 1967, few imagined that the Gen1 Camaro would eventually become a GM icon like the tri-five Bel-Air from a decade earlier. Chevy was simply trying to join the promising pony-car market. Many say the Gen1 Camaro is one of the best-looking Chevrolets to ever roll off the assembly line - an instant success story, one that continues to this day. This restored (2009) '68 Camaro is a solid example of this enduring classic. The Plum Crazy finish is in overall good condition and the black 'Z-28' hood/deck stripes are perfect accents - this Camaro looks great from any angle. A carefully restored black vinyl interior features a B&M shifter, Kenwood AM/FM/CD sound system w/Infinity speakers and SuperPro gauge package. Horsepower comes from a 350ci GM crate motor. It is fitted with an Edelbrock aluminum intake and Holley 600cfm carburetor and torque is delivered to a 3-speed 350 TurboHydramatic transmission. The clean chassis is equipped with power steering, power disc/drum brakes (new components) and a 10-bolt posi-traction rear end with 2.74:1 gearing. GM-style 15x7” rally wheels with centers/rings mount nice radials.
